Late designer Lee Alexander McQueen’s Autumn/Winter 2009 show literally changed the way I looked at Houndstooth pattern. The models with white make up, huge lips were clad in black, white and red houndstooth pattern. The show till date remains as one of my all time favourite and the houndstooth pattern has been struck up in my head since then.
It inspired me to design a shoe for one of the surface design techniques assignments that I had received in college last semester. I designed a knee-calf length boots with black and white houndstooth pattern and fur detailing.
The surface of the shoe involved the following techniques:
1. Houndstooth Pattern
2. Pile work
3. Braiding
