Runway Report – Luella Ready-To-Wear Spring/Summer 2010
I am not much into Luella Bartley’s collections. But it’s sad when I read that Luella Bartley Ltd., has lost it’s financial backing. It’s sad that she won’t be trading any more. But… Her clothes look more retailer friendly. Recession sucks and I mean it 🙁
Retail friendly clothes by Luella.
Any way, take a glimpse of her spring/summer 2010 collection. The more ‘girly’ inclined collection featured elegant floral prints, polka dots, girly bows, heart shape cuts, beautiful sophisticated dresses in candy floss pink, peach, vermilion and yellow. The collection was simple, smart and girly.
The entire collection:
Close up details:
Smart PVC bows.
Elegant rose prints in blue and yellow with a cute bow and a smart heart shape cut.
Polka dots on a balloon silhouette dress, with gathers and pleats in the waist line.
Some interesting folds in the black dress with rose prints, it looks really really smart! Pleated details seen in the other dress.
Emphasized shoulders. Smart and sexy structured dress with cap sleeve.
Models sported some smart patent leather bags, again in a girl’s favourite shades and details.
I hope the designer would come out strong with better things in future. Let’s pray for her. It’s still saddening that fashion in spite of being a form of art cannot live without MONEY!
